Crazy Ass Shit

Check out the Milkman Flash Animation by David Firth. He is absolutely amazing! He dubbed it to some Brian Eno and Aphex Twin which really contrasts with the darkness of the animation.

WARNING!!!: DO NOT WATCH THIS ON ANY CRAZY DRUGS OR IF YOU HAVE NIGHMARES OR ARE EASILY DISTURBED. YOU'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO FORGET IT.
I BET YOUR GOING TO WATCH IT ANYWAY

Me, I'm already disturbed anyway so I'm immune.

Is Life Really Like That?

I had the opportunity this afternoon to engage in a lengthily discussion with a professor at the university I attend.

We started talking about future careers and I posed him a question. I asked how he had gotten where he was.

Apparently he started as a high school teacher, living on a farm in the west end of Toronto. He started his own landscaping business cutting grass. He said he figured that if he started the business, he'd be able to get his employees to cut his own grass for free!

He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, a masters in history, a masters in business and a doctorate in organizational behavior. He has worked in Paris, Hungary, Thailand, China, Bali, Canada and America. This guy has done some seriously crazy stuff in his life.

His key piece of advice:

Always try to make yourself available for when opportunities arise.

Have you ever felt like crying?

For no apparent reason I was overcome this evening with a sadness that has followed me into the night. No reason or purpose motivates this resident beast. It feeds on my happy thoughts and corrupts my perception. A black veil has enshrouded me, tinting reality just so, and evoking my horrendous pessimism.

Whitby Psych!

Well Alright,

This is a blog devoted to all the crap I like. Supernatural, urban exploration, philosophy and the search for the underlying truisims behind the human condition.

Speaking of urban exploration. These are some pics from Whitby Psych; the abandoned mental hospital on the Whitby lakeshore. They are of 'Building 19' which is a centeral buiding that we have set up as a home base.

As the story goes, Whitby Psych was one of Canada's premier mental health facilities starting in the early 1900's (one particular building is dated 1907) and up until the late seventies when it was abandoned. On the grounds, there are a number of buildings that were used for everything from rec halls, out-patient services, to operating rooms. There's even a few morgues that are connected to the buildings via an underground tunnel system.
